Bandon Dunes is a complete experience for a golfing vacation that will not be easily topped or forgotten, from the breathtaking scenery, year-round accessibility, fantastic lodging options, restaurants, and the enormous practice center. Three things that stood out after spending a week in the area, both on and off the course, made Bandon Dunes Golf the golfer’s dream.
The Golf
The five complete courses at Bandon Dunes combine the natural beauty of the Oregon coastline with the challenging hills to create rounds that are genuinely enjoyable. One of the biggest challenges in golf, aside from the game itself, which can range from the easiest to the most difficult style of play, is focusing on the ball rather than the breathtaking scenery. Ocean views, spotless dunes, undeveloped canyons, and lush vegetation add a new dimension of enjoyment that isn’t present on more than a few courses around the globe.
The Lodging
Many peaceful and scenic places are available to stay at while visiting Bandon, Oregon. The nearby establishments are ideally situated for golf outings, offering seclusion, elegance, and cozy settings made with golfers in mind. The interior design of many of the accommodations pays homage to the nearby golf courses and the natural splendor of the Oregon coast. Everything there appears to have been carefully designed to complement and conclude a day spent at the Bandon Dunes.
The Town
The Bandon Dunes Resort is the main attraction for golfers, but after the 18th hole is completed and you’ve witnessed the spectacular sunset, you can unwind with your friends over a drink by the fire pit at one of the nearby inns or hotels or explore the seaside town. A charming and small town called Bandon, Oregon, is about 90 miles from Interstate 5. If you still have energy after your swing, there are plenty of places to go for dinner, drinks, or even dancing to while away the evening hours. Other activities include birding, crabbing, surfing, and other outdoor pursuits.
In light of its location, the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort is a dream location. I had to occasionally check my surroundings to make sure they were real, including the lovely town, luxurious lodgings, and breathtaking golf course scenery.
